Westward Ho!
Kansas State Fair
Thursday, September 17, 2009
$52*
We’ve been to the Iowa and Missouri State Fair. Now we’ll go west to Hutchinson for the Kansas State Fair. It’s the largest single event in the state and attracts about 350,000 people from all 105 Kansas counties and several states. The fair offers over 1,000 commercial exhibits; over 30,000 entries in various competitive exhibit departments including livestock; Kansas’s largest classroom field trip program; and strolling and stage entertainment in addition to the national acts performing at the grandstand. Afterward we’ll stop at the Grand Central Hotel in Cottonwood Falls for a dinner of chicken-fried steak and peach cobbler. There will be lots of walking, so wear your walking shoes. Sunscreen may not be a bad idea, also.
**PLEASE NOTE** Cancellation/refund deadline is August 28 for this trip.
