You may earn credit for educational experience completed while in the Armed Services. JCCC will grant four (4) hours of physical education credit for basic training. Submit at least one of the following documents to Testing Services:

• DD214, Armed Forces of the United States Report of Transfer or Discharge

• DD295, Application for the Evaluation of Learning Experiences

• Transcript of in-service training from appropriate service or an Office Report of Educational Achievement through the United States Armed Forces Institute

• AARTS - Army/ACE Registry Transcript System

JCCC faculty will determine whether the course credit recommended by the American Council of Education (ACE) is equivalent to courses taught by the college. Military evaluations are free to JCCC students. For more information contact a PLA advisor 913-469-8500 ext. 3538. JCCC Veterans Office

It is recommended that those pursuing a certificate program or AA degree at JCCC have their evaluation done during their first year. Those ultimately seeking a four year degree are advised to have their evaluation done during the last semester of their second year. All students are advised to work closely with an academic counselor to ensure that credits apply to their educational plan.
