Home-Schooled Students and JCCC

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school can take classes at JCCC after completing several steps.

  • The student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school or a student in grade 9 who has been identified as gifted with a current Individual Educational Plan (IEP) from a public school district.
  • Attend an orientation session (a 45-minute overview of JCCC).
  • Submit an application for admission.
  • Submit a High School Authorization form signed by the home-school administrator. A signed Concurrent Enrollment Options for High School Students Authorization form must be submitted to JCCC.
  • Provide ACT scores with 19 or higher in English and 26 or higher in math; SAT scores with 590 or higher in math; OR, take the JCCC assessment test.
  • Submit a home-school transcript.
  • Talk with a JCCC counselor.

For the home-schooled high school graduate:

  • Attend an orientation session.
  • Submit an application for admission.
  • Provide ACT scores or SAT scores (see above), or take the JCCC assessment test.
  • Following high school graduation, submit a high school transcript with graduation date.
  • Talk with a JCCC counselor.
