--will introduce adjunct faculty to the program's requirements,
registration procedures and information about the reflective narrative
journal. Several of the module facilitators will be introduced and will
describe the modules they will be leading.
Assessment and Test Construction -- 3 hours
--will focus on the role assessment plays in the classroom and how a test
can create a dialog between instructor and student about what the student
has learned. Adjunct faculty will explore the elements of a positive
learning environment and assessment techniques to enhance learning. This
module will also look at the assumption that test scores are based on the
student's ability and are providing accurate information about what the
student has learned. Topics will include discussion on assessment and
evaluation, how to develop high-quality essay and multiple-choice
questions for tests, and pitfalls to avoid when developing classroom
assessments.
Classroom Diversity Issues -- 3 hours

be covered. The tragedy of hate crimes will be discussed within the
institutional context.

facilitator. The second part consists of videotaping one of the adjunct
faculty member's class sessions. After the session, the videotape will be
reviewed one-on-one with the facilitator. Adjunct faculty will keep their

participants. Enrollment for these sessions cannot be done online. To
register, please contact Myra Young directly at myoung@jccc.edu.
