The Mission of the Counseling Center is to take an active role within each student’s learning environment by facilitating the process of educational, career, and personal decision-making in a professional and caring manner.
We hope that you come into the Counseling Center early in your association with JCCC and visit with a Counselor. An individual relationship with a Counselor can be vital to your academic success.
The Counseling Center is staffed with thirty-one professional faculty members focused on your Student Development and Success. Counselors utilize a developmental advising model that enables students to realize their maximum educational and career potential. Responsibility for this ongoing, multifaceted process is shared by the student and the Counselor.
