Divider

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the country. All CLEP exams are computer-based. There are 35 90-minute exams representing courses typical of the first two years of college study.

CLEP exams are offered at JCCC, Testing Center, STC 334, on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; there is no pre-registration. CLEP testing is not offered at JCCC during the months of May and December. Examinees requiring special accommodations will need to contact JCCC Testing Services (913-469-4439) prior to testing. In order to test, two sets of photo ID's with the examinee's name and signature is required (acceptable ID's include a current driver's license, a current passport, or a current college or high school-issued student ID card with photo and signature).

The CLEP testing fee is $72 per exam (paid by credit card - American Express, Discover, MasterCard, VISA - or check, no cash) and the JCCC administrative fee is $20 per exam (paid by credit card - American Express, Discover, MasterCard, VISA, cash, or check). The fees are to be paid at the time of testing.

If you are seeking credit from JCCC through the CLEP program, please consult a PLA advisor in Testing Services, Student Center SC334 (913-469-8500, ext. 3538), prior to taking the test.
