GED Requirements
The GED Testing program offers a candidate an opportunity to earn a Kansas
State High School Diploma. To take the GED at Johnson County Community
College, a person must be a Kansas resident, not currently enrolled in
high school and at least 18 years old. If the candidate is 16 or 17 years
old, see section "Candidates Under 18" for testing requirements. Proof of
passing the GED Practice Test is also required. Refer to the
Preregistration section for additional requirements. If a candidate has a documented disability, he/she may qualify for testing
accommodations. Refer to the Accommodations section. Time Limit to Complete the GED Test BatteryIn Kansas candidates taking the GED Test for the first time must complete the entire battery of five tests within ninety (90) calendar days of the initial test date and in no more than three testing sessions. Candidates Under 18As required by the State of Kansas, if candidates are 16 or 17 years of
age, he/she must obtain a Compulsory Attendance Disclaimer and a
Compulsory Attendance Exemption form from the school district in which
he/she resides. Fees and Test RequirementsThe current fee for the GED Test in Kansas is $68 statewide. This is a non-transferable, non-refundable fee. It is payable to JCCC in the form of a money order or a check. The fee is subject to change without notice. |
