Career planning and development became an inescapable necessity after Carolyn completed her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Missouri. After she finished the student teaching portion of her degree, she realized that she had made a huge mistake in her career choice. Years later, Carolyn completed her Master of Science degree in Counseling at the University of La Verne, La Verne, California. She focused on the career development aspects of counseling and found her calling. Carolyn’s role as career counselor is to help students explore various career/education options through assessments such as the Focus, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory. Carolyn coordinates the Choices Workshop program which is designed for first time college students to explore their interests and personality to begin the important process of career or education decision-making.
