Cavaliers in the Pros

Forty-three former Cavaliers have signed as free agents or been drafted by Major League organizations. Travis Buckley, who played at JCCC for one season in 1989, was the first player to make a 40-man roster. A right-handed pitcher, Buckley was put on the 40-man roster of the 1993 expansion Colorado Rockies. In 2002, Kit Pellow became the first player to play in a Major League game, when he was called up from Omaha by the Kansas City Royals. Pellow signed with the Rockies in 2003, and was the 2004 opening starter in left field for the Colorado Rockies.
