Gifted Individual Educational Plan Students
In compliance with Kansas Statute Annotated 72-11a03, Kansas House Bill 2575, and Kansas Senate Bill 541, students in the 9th grade can take classes at JCCC after completing the following steps:
- Submit an application for admission
- Submit a copy of a current Individual Educational Plan (IEP) from a public school to the JCCC Admissions office.
- Submit a High School Authorization form signed by your school principal to JCCC.
- Provide ACT scores with a 19 or higher in English and Reading and a 26 or higher in math, or SAT Math score of 590 or higher, OR take the JCCC assessment test. All tests must have been taken within two years of enrollment.
- Note that students who test into a developmental math (less than College Algebra) or English (less than Composition I) class will not be able to enroll in a course offered through JCCC.
- Submit a home-school transcript (only if the student is currently being home-schooled).
- Talk with the program director of admissions about the courses you wish to take.
- Enroll for classes.
Students in grades less than grade 9 cannot enroll in classes through JCCC.
