CLEAR

CLEAR (College Learning Experiences, Activities, and Resources) provides non-credit continuing education classes for adults with developmental disabilities or severe learning disabilities. The program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life enhancing experiences.

Counseling and Advising

The mission of Counseling and Advising Services is to take an active role within each student's learning environment by facilitating the process of educational, career and personal decision making in a professional and caring manner.

Cooperative Programs

JCCC and the Metropolitan Community College District have developed cooperative agreements that allow Johnson County, Wyandotte County and Missouri residents to enroll in selected career programs at resident cost per credit hour tuition rates.

Financial aid assists with scholarships, grants, loans, student employment and federal work study programs, and veterans benefits.

Health and Physical Education

It is the mission of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Wellness (HPER & Wellness) Department to promote and provide opportunities for physical activity, wellness and the study of Exercise Sciences for JCCC students, employees and staff.

Hiersteiner Child Dev. Center

The Hiersteiner Child Development Center is licensed by the Kansas State Department of Health and Environment and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The HCDC provides child care and education on a part- or full-time basis.

International & Immigrant SS

The Intercultural Center serves individuals wishing to come to, or presently in the U.S. on a visa, or in asylum, refugee, pending permanent resident (those not having yet filed an I-485 application for permanent residence) or undocumented status as well as community members, with admission assistance, federal regulations advisement, and world cultures education, support and programming

Student Record information such as graduation requirements, transcripts, transferred credits, attendance and enrollment verification and grade changes.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors serve as official representatives of JCCC; to promote the college programs to prospective students, business and community members; to encourage JCCC pride on and off campus; and to be instrumental in recruitment of new students. They also offer campus tours.

Student Life and Leadership

The Student Life Division actively seeks to engage students into the educational process by providing opportunities for leadership, group association, social contact, cultural enrichment, recreational learning and basic services. Success Center

The Student Success Center is an interactive resource center offering prospective and current students nearly every informational resource and service necessary to succeed at JCCC, in one location. Professional staff is available to answer questions and assist with access and use of all resources and services.

Testing Services

This office provides a variety of services including administration of assessment tests for all students enrolled in credit courses. Other types of tests include proficiency tests, telecourse tests, distance learning tests, and instructor make-up tests for students who have missed a regularly scheduled exam. In addition, the center administers standardized tests such as the ACT, CLEP, GED and others.
