Production Services

Production services are offered to JCCC faculty and staff. Services are available to JCCC students only for class projects and only if a JCCC instructor requests the services. VHS, S-VHS, U-matic,  BetaCam SP, and DVCam recording formats are available for department productions. Other formats may be available by special arrangement. Use the Production Request Form to request production services. While a minimum advance notice of five working days is recommended for all production services, some projects are booked 12 to 18 months in advance.

Studio Productions

Studio A: Student performances and projects, guest lecturers, training demonstrations, talk shows, political forums and debates, etc. that  require 1 to 3 cameras in a controlled environment. Studio A can accommodate a class (audience) of 15.

Studio B: Production for those students enrolled in the Introduction to Broadcasting, Broadcast Performance, and Basic Television Production courses.  Also serves as a student lab for non-linear editing projects.

Remote Productions

Single Camera: Student presentations, instructor or guest lectures, sporting events, etc., to be viewed at a later time.

Videoconferencing: Small group conferences may be conducted from selected rooms on campus by special arrangement (See Distance Learning  for details).

Multiple Camera: JCCC Board of Trustees meetings, program and college graduations, political debates/forums, sporting events, community service events, cultural arts performances, etc.

Distance Learning: Interactive video classes may be conducted from selected rooms on campus by special arrangement (See Distance Learning for details).

Video Editing

Video programs produced by JCCC or those video programs accompanied by written permission from the copyright holder can be edited. Source video formats that can be edited include VHS, S-VHS, U Matic, BetaCam SP and DVCam. Other formats can possibly be accommodated by special arrangement.

Graphics and Animation

Instructional video graphics and 2-D and 3-D animations can be created by TV Services staff for JCCC productions. Significant advance notice is required for the creation of animation sequences and complex video graphics.

Closed Captioning

Most community interest programming produced by TV Services is closed captioned during the live broadcast.  Educational programming can be captioned in either an open or closed format.  Such services are provided on a contract basis with an outside provider.  Contact the Academic Director for more information.
