The JCCC SBDC partners with the Kauffman Foundation to identify and develop pivotal opportunities in entrepreneurship education. The JCCC KSBDC is also a member of the entrepreneurship referral networks, KCSourceLink and Network Kansas . The JCCC SBDC is part of the Kansas Small Business Development Center Network, which has regional and associate centers located throughout the state of Kansas. Kansas Small Business Development Center The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is partially funded by the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC). For SBA and KDOC programs and services, go to sba.gov or kansascommerce.com. SBA’s and KDOC’s funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions, or services. All SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. A partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Kansas Department of Commerce. JCCC features a comprehensive set of entrepreneurship courses that are offered for college credit. These courses are now open to non-credit, continuing education students who are interested in the subject matter, but not necessarily interested in receiving college credit. Students in the business entrepreneurship program will learn the fundamentals of starting and operating their own business. Students in the entrepreneurship program will learn the fundamentals of starting and operating their own business. Students interested in college credit may earn an associate or applied science degree or complete the business entrepreneurship vocational certificate or business plan certificate. Coursework covers preparing a business plan, obtaining financing, financial management, market research, marketing a product or service and developing an accurate accounting system. Students also will complete internships in small businesses.
