What We Offer:

Johnson Community College offers  one of the few programs in the area that is licensed to offer Command Spanish®, nationally recognized Spanish language and cross-cultural training for specific professions. This program is customized, work specific, real life Spanish instruction to use in day-to-day interactions with Spanish speaking individuals. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required.

Who Should Attend:

All interested persons who interact with Spanish speaking associates, employees or clients.

How You Will Benefit:

  • Learn to use Spanish to obtain and provide information when interacting directly with Spanish-speaking individuals.
  • Learn cross-cultural information designed to identify and minimize or eliminate barriers to communications and understanding between Spanish-speaking individuals and non-Spanish speaking persons who interact with them.
  • Learn direct commands, and simple statements to relay directions and information.
  • Learn control questions, which are designed to control potential responses and render them comprehensible.

What You Will Cover:

The course is designed to teach Spanish that can be used immediately in day-to-day oral communication interactions with clients. This results oriented program seeks to teach to attainable goals and objectives using an interactive teaching format. Pronunciation, work-specific language, phonetic encoding and listening activities are a part of each lesson. Cultural tips are integrated into each class.
