Project Lead The Way High School Credits

For all credits awarded by JCCC the following criteria must be met by all students:
 
  • The student's high school is PLTW certified and all courses were taught by teachers who completed PLTW summer institutes.
  • The instructors submit student's test scores to JCCC.
  • The student enrolls at JCCC.
 
Engineering Transfer
 
A student working towards transferring to a 4-year Engineering program can earn two credits for ENGR 121 (Engineering Orientation).  In order to receive this credit, the following additional criteria must be met:
 
  • The student must have completed Principles of Engineering, and one of the following 2 courses with an 80% or higher average:
    • Introduction to Engineering Design OR
    • Engineering Design and Development.
  • The students scored at least 70% on both of the national PLTW course exams.
 
CAD Drafting Technology
 
A student working towards earning Associate of Applied Science in CAD Drafting can earn up to four credit hours. Two credits for DRAF 245 Mechanical Desktop/Inventor AND two credits for DRAF 140 Topics in CAD.
 
Two credits for DRAF 245 Mechanical Desktop/Inventor. In order to receive this credit, the following additional criteria must be met:
 
  • The student completed Introduction to Engineering Design or Principles of Engineering AND Computer Integrated Manufacturing with an 80% or higher average.
  • The student scored at least 70% on two of the three national PLTW course exams.
 
Two credits for DRAF 140 Topics in CAD. In order to receive this credit, the following additional criteria must be met:
 
  • The student complete Introduction to Engineering Design or Principles of Engineering AND Engineering Design and Development with and 80% or higher average.
  • The student scored at least 70% on two of the three national PLTW course exams.
