Admission Criteria & Ranking

        



The application for admission will be evaluated after the deadlines listed above; providing that all required documents have been received.

·  All applicants who have met the requirements and have complete applications, will be scheduled for an interview with faculty and counselors.
·  The interview process will involve review of academic preparation, related health care experience, skill development, and personal characteristics relevant to student success in the Practical Nursing Program.
·  Students are required to take the TEAS test and must achieve a minimum reading composite score of 66% and a minimum math composite score of 40% in order to be interviewed for the program. (Details regarding the TEAS test are on page 11 of the application packet)

Applicants are ranked as follows:

  • The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) will contribute 20% to the final   ranking.
  • Grade point average in required pre-requisites will contribute 40% to the final ranking.
  • The interview will contribute 40% to the final ranking.
  • Following all interviews and computerized ranking, applicants will be notified by certified mail if they have been accepted into the program.  Those candidates not initially chosen for positions will be notified of their program status through regular mail.
