Application Procedure
Submit to address below:
- Completed Application for Admission to Johnson County Community College Practical Nursing Program.
- If you have taken the Test of Essential Academic Skills test at a location other than Johnson County Community College, have the results sent directly to the Johnson County Community College, King's Cove Campus at: 10000 W 75th Street/Suite 241, Merriam, KS 66204-2241. If you took the TEAS test at JCCC in the previous year and want those results considered, please contact us at 469-2383. Remember: results of tests which are more than three years old will not be accepted. If you have not taken the Test of Academic Skills before, please refer to page 11 of the application packet.
- NOTE: If you are applying for the Evening Weekend LPN Program there will be more test dates posted closer to the deadline on the "Shop JCCC/Services/Testing Services" link.
- High School Transcripts or GED scores are required only if you are applying for federal financial aid and have completed less than 12 college credits.
- Official college transcripts of all other colleges and universities you have attended, EXCEPT Johnson County Community College are required to facilitate the admissions process. It is recommended that transcripts be submitted well in advance of the application deadline.
Note: Additional Transcript Information
The applicant is responsible for notifying each institution to forward official transcripts to Johnson County Community College, Student Records, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210. All transcripts must be mailed directly from the college to Johnson County Community College. Hand-carried copies will not be accepted.
Address ALL application materials to:
- Students who have previously applied to the Practical Nursing program must submit a new nursing application and are considered first-time applicants.
- The application for admission will be academically evaluated only> when all of the above materials have been received.
- Applicants must complete all pre-requisite courses with a grade of āCā or higher. Pre-requisite courses are:
- BIOL 144 Human Anatomy and Physiology - If courses are taken separately, labs must be a component of each course. (5 cr hrs)
- PSYC 130 Introduction to Psychology (3 cr hrs)
- PSYC 218 Human Development (3 cr hrs)
- AVHO 102 Certified Nurse Aide (5 cr hrs) Current Kansas Certification
- XNC 3140 CPR for Health Care Provider - Current
IV. Transfer of Credits
Johnson County Community College does not accept transfer credits from a non-accredited college.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO MAKE SURE ALL MATERIALS ARE RECEIVED IN THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE ON OR BEFORE THE DEADLINE. IN ORDER TO NOTIFY APPLICANTS OF THE STATUS OF THEIR FILE, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT APPLICATIONS BE SUBMITTED WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE DEADLINE.
Interviews will be scheduled for those students who have met the required minimum TEAS scores and have completed files.
Applicants will be ranked following the interview process.
Evening/Weekend [EW] Program Application Deadline:
- 10/1/10 (January, 2011 course start date)
Day Program Application deadline:
- 3/15/10 (August, 2010 course start date)
