The CNA in Kansas is required to work at least eight hours every two years
for the CNA certificate to remain active. If the CNA does not work for two
years, a 10-hour refresher course must be completed. This course meets the
state requirement to activate the CNA certificate.
This course includes five hours of classroom instruction and five hours of
laboratory experience. Students will discuss the nurse aide's
responsibility in the current health care system and the importance of
resident's rights. The student will demonstrate safety measures, infection
control procedures, personal care skills, measurement of vital signs and
transfers, positioning and turning.
