The health care field continues to grow as the average age of the population increases. According to the Department of Labor, employment opportunities in healthcare are among the fastest growing in the nation. Our JCCC Health Occupations Programs include Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Medication Aide, Home Health Aide, and Rehabilitative Aide. These programs satisfy requirements for training and prepares the student for certification in Kansas. We also offer the Practical Nurse program. The PN program consists of a 10-month day schedule or a 24-month evening weekend schedule that prepares the student for licensure in the state of Kansas. Most Health Occupations require continuing education following completion of basic programs. Advancement opportunities and certification in many careers depend on additional training. The Certified Nurse Assistant Refresher, Certified Medication Aide Update, and the IV Therapy for LPN courses provide support for competence and safety through continuing education. One prerequisite for our Health Occupations courses is the CPR for Health Care Providers training . It is offered through JCCC Continuing Education. For information about CPR call 913-469-3811. To register for CPR call 913-469-2323.
Classes are held on the King's Cove Campus, just west of the I-35 and 75th St. interchange.
Our dedicated faculty and staff, large classrooms and fully-equipped nursing arts lab and student computer lab serve the adult learner in the Health Care field.
