What salary does a PSGT earn?
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics does not yet collect employment or earnings data on Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologists. The credentialing Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) estimates that there are more than 7,000 registered technologists internationally.
A 2003 survey by the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists (APT) found that PSG technologists had average biweekly earnings of $1,719, with registered technologists earning slightly more than their non-credentialed counterparts. As of August 2006, Salary Wizard indicates a national median expected annual salary of $43,792, with the 25th%ile at $38,589 and the 75th%ile at $48,989. Slightly higher figures were noted for the Kansas City area.
