The three full-time paralegal professors are attorneys and have been
involved with paralegal education since the 1980s.

Anita Tebbe
Facilitator/ Professor
Anita Tebbe received her Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University
School of Law. She also has earned a Masters of Arts degree in Education
and an undergraduate degree in history. Ms. Tebbe is licensed to practice
law in Kansas. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Kansas Bar
Association, and Johnson County Bar Association.
Her involvement with JCCC's Paralegal Program began in 1988. Before that
time, she taught at the high school level and and at other colleges.
During spring, 1996, Anita Tebbe worked as an intern for the Municipal
Court of Overland Park, Kansas and the Small Claims Court of Johnson
County, Kansas.
Among the awards that she has received are the JCCC Distinguished Service
Award in 1993, 1995, and 1997. Ms. Tebbe is involved in the American
Association for Paralegal Education, an organization comprised of over 300
paralegal programs throughout the United States. She has served on the
board of directors and been editor of their quarterly newsletter, Sidebar,
and their quarterly magazine, The Paralegal Educator. She was
president of AAFPE from 1997 to 1998.
In 2004, Ms. Tebbe was appointed to the American Bar Association
Approval Commission. In 2005, she was named Chair of the Approval
Commission and a member of the ABA Standing Committee on
Paralegals.
Ms. Tebbe is also the author of a book The History
of Southeast Johnson County, Kansas. She was given the opportunity to
write the book when she was on a 2004 sabbatical.
Among the legal organizations that Ms. Tebbe is involved in are
- Member of the Kansas Bar Association Legal Assistant Committee;
- Member of the Kansas Paralegal Association; Kansas City Paralegal Association; and Heatland Association of Legal Assistants;
- Member of the JCCC-Overland Park Mediation Advisory Board.
Norma Stratemeier
Professor
Earning two degrees from University of Missouri, Kansas City, Norma
Stratemeier received a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Arts, history
degree from that institution. She is licensed to practice law in Missouri.
Ms. Stratemeier is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas
City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Kansas City Association of
Women Lawyers.
Joining the Paralegal Program in 1987, Norma Stratemeier came from a
background in local government, private law practive, and part-time legal
teaching. She served as Facilitator of the JCCC Paralegal Program from
1987 to 1990. Currently, she specializes in the teaching of Legal Research
and Civil Litigation. Depending upon the particular semester, you may also
find her teaching such courses as Intro to Law, Law Office Management, and
Medical-legal Research and Writing.
Norma Stratemeier has published several articles about the paralegal
profession, and has appeared as a speaker at various local and state
paralegal association meeetings and seminars. She frequently performs
critical reviewing of manuscripts for publishers of legal materials. In
the fall of 1994, she interned for an attorney who specializes in
litigation practice.
Jay M. Nadlman
Assistant Professor
Jay M. Nadlman received his Juris
Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in
1985, where he served as Comments Editor of the Law Review. He has a
Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Washington University in St.
Louis. He is a member of the Missouri Bar.
Assistant Professor Nadlman joined Johnson County Community College as an
adjunct professor in 2007. He is currently teaching Bankruptcy Law,
Intellectual Property Law, Introduction to Law, Law Office Computing,
Legal Research & Writing II, and Wills, Trusts and Probate Administration.
Prior to joining JCCC he served as the Vice President, Associate General
Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Kansas City Southern. He began his
legal career as a trial attorney working for Union Pacific Railroad
Company in 1985.
