Some Enchanted Evening  -- A Scholarship Benefit for the Johnson County Community College Foundation

On Nov. 14, 2009, the Johnson County Community College Foundation will celebrate our annual Some Enchanted Evening, a scholarship benefit to support students in need of financial assistance in pursuing their dreams of a college education.

This black-tie gala includes a gourmet dinner, a social hour and fine wines with dinner, entertainment arranged and performed specially for the evening, and dancing until midnight.

This year’s event chairs are Brad and Libby Bergman. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Johnson Countians of the Year award to Terry and Peggy Dunn for their long-time contributions to our community.

Some Enchanted Evening is an important source for scholarship funds at Johnson County Community College.

This year, the JCCC Foundation will provide more than $600,000 toward student assistance. The college annually distributes more $30 million in federal grants and loans for which each applicant meets the federal guidelines, yet the need for student assistance at JCCC is significant.

Last year, Some Enchanted Evening raised $300,000 in sponsorships to support student scholarships. We are counting on the continuing generosity of our sponsors to help provide much needed support for JCCC students.

Participation in Some Enchanted Evening as a sponsor establishes a scholarship fund in the donor's name through the JCCC Foundation. Sponsors pledge their support for the event through donations at the $25,000, $15,000, $10,000, or $5,000 level.

Reservations for patron tables of eight and individual seats will be available after June 1, 2009. For more information on this event, contact Kristin McDaniel, (913) 469-2716.
