The JCCC Foundation supports student scholarships, cultural programming and visual arts at the college.
This is only possible with the help of many donors and volunteers who make our fund-raising efforts successful. The need is great.
Student Scholarships
You may not know how hard it is for many students to find the resources to come to school.
A Johnson County resident pays $69 per credit hour. A student taking 16 credit hours will need $1,104 a semester for tuition and at least $400 for books.
This does not include additional costs such as tools, inoculations or supplies that are required by specific programs.
A nursing student pays at least $500 for instruments, supplies and inoculations. Automotive technology students purchase a tool kit that costs $800, and dental hygiene students purchase an instrument kit that costs $2,052.
In addition, childcare, transportation costs and lost income from time spent off the job, are problems many of our students encounter daily.
They need scholarship money available through the college to continue their education.
The JCCC Financial Aid office estimates 320 students who need a JCCC or Foundation scholarship did not receive one because there were insufficient funds were available. It would require an additional $500,000 a year to meet the needs of these students.
