JCCC sees highest fall enrollment yet

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — For the fall 2006 semester, credit class enrollment at JCCC is the highest yet recorded – 19,098, a 2.2 percent increase over the total of 18,680 in fall 2005. The number of credit hours in which students are enrolled is 161,644, an increase of 2.3 percent over the total of 158,045 for fall 2005. Because several classes have yet to start, the final total for fall enrollment will be even greater at the end of the semester.

Larry W. Tyree, JCCC interim president, attributes the increase in credit class enrollment to the services the college provides, including online courses, weekend courses and classes offered on alternative schedules and to the quality of the faculty and staff.

“Students know the quality of teaching they will find on this campus,” Tyree said. “Our reputation for classroom excellence keeps our enrollments high.”
