Halloween Family Concert Fest Is Oct. 29

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The free annual Halloween Family Concert will begin with a reception and activities for children at 2 p.m., a stage parade at 3 p.m. and concert immediately following on Sunday, Oct. 29, in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College.

  • 2 p.m. Reception will include free face painting by the Zonta International Clowns, free balloon animals by Alan Goodheart, cookies and punch.
  • 3 p.m. Children in costume will parade across the Yardley Hall stage.
  • Following parade- Concert features the Overland Park Orchestra conducted by James Funkhouser and back, by popular demand, Michelle Wyeth’s dancers.


After the concert, each child will receive a gift bag of candy in the Carlsen Center lobby as they leave Yardley Hall. Last year, hundreds of children, parents and grandparents attended this event.

The annual Halloween Family Concert is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required. The event is made possible by the JCCC Brown & Gold Club, Overland Park Art Commission, Overland Park Orchestra and Overland Park Arts Ambassadors.  For more information, contact the JCCC Brown & Gold Club, 913-469-8500, ext. 4305.
