JCCC sees high fall enrollment

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – As of the 20th day of the fall 2008 semester, 19,062 students are enrolled at Johnson County Community College, an increase of almost 1 percent  from the total of 18,913 in fall 2007. The number of credit hours in which students are enrolled is 160,750, an increase of 1,516 hours or almost 1 percent from fall 2007.

Terry A. Calaway, JCCC president, attributes the increase in credit class enrollment to the quality and value of courses, convenient schedule times including weekend and online courses, nine College Close to Home sites, and well respected faculty.

“We are pleased that community colleges, in general, and Johnson County Community College, in particular, are receiving the recognition they deserve for academic excellence,” Calaway said.
