Mary Ann Thompson cancer symposium held at JCCC


OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The 12th Annual Mary Ann Thompson Memorial Cancer Symposium will be from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Capitol Federal Conference Center of the Regnier Center, Johnson County Community College.

The symposium is co-sponsored by JCCC’s Health and Human Services and the International Myeloma Foundation. Presenters for this course include Deauna-Limayo, MD, a myeloma specialist; Teresa S. Miceli, a member of the IMF nurse leadership board; and Michael Kauffman MD, PhD, who will discuss myeloma clinical trials: studies with carfilzomib.

RNs, LPNs, social workers and counselors will earn six contact hours. ACHAs will earn six (RC) hours. Approval is pending for OTs and PTs.

Cost for the symposium is $72, $24 for HealthCare Consortium network members.
