JCCC Concert Band and Jazz Band perform fall concerts

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Johnson County Community College music department will have two concerts in September. Concerts are free and open to the public.

  • The JCCC Concert Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center. The program will be Early One Morning, Pierre La Plante; Acrostic Song, David Del Tredici;  ... and a time, Jeff Jordan; Mosaic, Stephen Paulus; and Escape from Chronopolis, Reber Clark.
  • Jazz Night, featuring the Midnight Blues Jazz Choir, Midnight Express Jazz Ensemble, and JCCC Combo, will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Polsky Theatre. Music highlights include compositions by Neil Hefti, Dan Davison, Benny Carter, Count Basie and Sammy Nestico.
