Polsky Series presents new role of community colleges

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series presents Jackie Snyder, chancellor, Metropolitan Community Colleges, and Terry Calaway, president, Johnson County Community College, speaking on What Community Colleges Offer Students, Parents, Industry and Community from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center, JCCC.

The seminar is free, but seating is limited. Reserve tickets by calling the JCCC box office, 913-469-4445. Reserved covered parking is available. Refreshments and networking are offered one-half hour before and after the program.

Snyder and Calaway, representing two premier community colleges – one in Missouri and one in Kansas, will speak on new institutional initiatives:

  • Allied health, nursing and culinary
  • Sustainability
  • Bioscience
  • Collaboration between the two schools

This series is underwritten by the Norman & Elaine Polsky Family Supporting Foundation within the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation in partnership with JCCC and includes topics not now being offered elsewhere.
