JCCC music concerts planned for March

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Johnson County Community College music department will present three concerts in March in the Carlsen Center. All concerts are free and open to the pubic.

  • Wednesday, March 4
    JCCC Jazz Night, 7:30 p.m., Polsky Theatre
    Jazz Night features the Midnight Blues Jazz Choir and the Midnight Express Jazz Ensemble with special guest artist jazz vocalist Kathy Kosins. Music by Count Basie, Phil Wilson and Sammy Nestico will be featured. The groups will also be performing arrangements and an original composition by Kosins.
  • Thursday, March 5
    JCCC Chamber Choir and MadRegalia, 7:30 p.m., Polsky Theatre
  • Saturday, March 7
    JCCC Concert Band with guests the Olathe East High School Concert Band, 7:30 p.m., Yardley Hall
    This is a joint concert with Olathe East High School. The JCCC band will be performing compositions titled Across the Halfpipe, Fantasy on Childhood Songs and Vesuvius. The Olathe East band will be performing a variety of works as they prepare for a trip to New York City.
