OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series will present Health Care 2009 from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College. Myra Christopher, president, Center for Practical Bioethics; Elaine Mcintosh, president, Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care; and David Wilson, president, AARP Kansas, will be the evening’s speakers.
The seminar is free, but seating is limited. Reserve tickets by calling the JCCC box office, 913-469-4445. Reserved covered parking is available. Refreshments and networking are offered one-half hour before and after the program.
This seminar will cover recent updates regarding health care — managing health care expenses in a difficult economy, the growing need for health care reform, health care reform in the Obama administration and the stimulus package’s impact on health care — as well as ongoing ethics about how to make the “right” decision at the end of life, the importance of advance care planning, options for coping with life-threatening diseases and more.
