JCCC's Brown & Gold Club Hosts Moonlight Serenade Orchestra
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Johnson County Community College's Brown & Gold Club presents The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra at 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center. A reception begins at 7 p.m. in the Carlsen Center lobby.
People of all ages are invited to take a nostalgic trip back to the re-creation of an authentic World War II USO canteen show. The event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
The 12-piece swing band, dressed in authentic WWII U.S. Army Air Corps uniforms, plays hits reminiscent of the great bands like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington. More contemporary sounds make up the second half of the show.
JCCC Brown & Gold Club, an organization for Johnson County residents 55 and older, is hosting the event, which is open to anyone. For more information about the Moonlight Serenade show, call the Brown & Gold office at 913-469-8500, ext. 4305.
