Lockwood, Lyman and Hardy selected to all-conference volleyball team

OVERLAND PARK, KS Johnson County Community College sophomore hitters Jordan Lockwood (Silver Lake, Kan.) and Torey Lyman (Hutchinson, Kan.) and freshman libero Erin Hardy (Topeka, Kan.) were recently selected as 2009 All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference volleyball performers. They have helped JCCC to a 25-7 record, a No. 5 national ranking, and to a spot in this year¹s NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

For Lockwood, this is her second all-conference selection. She earned honorable mention honors last year, but moved up to the first-team this season. Lockwood leads the team with 401 kills and an attack percentage of .241. She is only the fifth player in JCCC history to record of 400 kills in a season. Lockwood also ranks ninth in the NJCAA with a 3.68 kills per set ratio. She also has 303 digs on the season and leads the team with 32 aces. Lockwood has recorded 23 double figure kill matches and 17 double figure dig matches. She also has produced 15 matches where she recorded a double-double in kills and digs.

Lyman ranks second on the team in kills with 324, digs with 384 and aces with 31. Her attack percentage of .189 is also second. She currently ranks 53rd in the NJCAA with a kills per set ratio of 2.79. She has 17 double figure kill matches, and 20 double figure dig matches. She also has 11 times recorded a double-double of kills and digs in a match. Earlier this season, Lyman was chosen the KJCCC/Region VI Player of the Week after registering 20 kills, 14 digs and two aces in a win over Allen County.

Hardy is the team¹s dig leader with 548 on the season. She is just the fourth player in team history to record of 500 digs in one campaign, and could become just the second to top 600 depending on how deep the Lady Cavaliers advance in the national tournament. Her 4.63 digs per match ratio ranks 34th in the NJCAA. She has registered double figures in 28 of the team¹s 32 matches, including 12 matches with 20 or more. Hardy also has 21 aces, third most on the team.
