JCCC’s Elafros finished third at Pratt Designated

OVERLAND PARK, KS --  Johnson County Community College sophomore golfer Mike Elafros, a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School, recorded a third place finish at the fifth Kansas Jayhawk Conference Designated hosted by Pratt Community College at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kan.

Elafros fired a five over par 145 to earned his sixth top-10 finish of the season.  Elafros opened the tournament with a five over par 75, then came back with an even par 70 in the second round.  Elafros leads the Cavaliers with a season stroke average of 74.3.

Sophomore Nate Sargent, also a Shawnee Mission South graduate, nearly cracked the top 10, finishing 13th overall with a 151 total.  Sargent opened with a 75, and capped his play with a round of 76.

Rounding out the Cavaliers scoring were freshman Miles Christensen (T-18th-153), sophomore Keith Erickson (T-20-154) and freshman Matt Crossland (T-27th-159).
