OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College golfer Keith Erickson is leading the Cavaliers team at the 2008 NJCAA Division I Championship at Hampton Cove River Course in Huntsville, Ala. Erickson, a sophomore from Olathe South High School, is tied for 23rd overall with a 154 total (+10). He also has the second best score from players in Region VI.

Erickson opened with an 82 in the first round, but fought back with a second round 72, which ranks as the 16th lowest score posted by a JCCC golfer in a national championship. Should Erickson finish among the top 15 in the tournament, he would earn NJCAA All-American and All-Tournament honors. A top 18 finish would still earn him all-tournament accolades.
