Cavaliers win second straight conference golf tournament

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College golf team won its second straight conference designated tournament on Monday afternoon at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kan. The Cavaliers finished with a team total of 611, five shots better than Hutchinson and 15 better than Dodge City.

JCCC sophomore Trevor Johanson finished runner-up for the second straight tournament. He fired back-to-back rounds of 75, just shots off the pace set by Dale Middleton of Hutchinson.

Three other players for JCCC finished in the top six. Freshman Eric Herman had his second top 10 finish this season. He tied for fourth with a 153 total. He opened with a 78, then capped his round with a 75. Freshman Cody Christie and sophomore Matt Puhr were part of a three-way tie for sixth-place with a 154 total. Both players shot rounds of 78 and 76.
