Jake Moore commits to JCCC baseball program

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College head baseball coach Kent Shelley announced today Jake Moore, a 6-4, 215-pound right-handed pitcher from Ottawa (Kan.) High School, has given his commitment to the Cavaliers' baseball program.

Moore is the ace for coach Shawn Herrmann at Ottawa. During his high school career, Moore has pitched 140 innings, allowed only 114 hits, compiled 174 strikeouts, only 56 walks, and has a very impressive 2.95 ERA. Last year he was first-team All-Frontier Conference and first-team All-KABA in Legion ball. Moore has had a very impressive high school career, and his best days are yet to come.

"Jake has excellent size, good velocity, and is a competitor on the mound." said Shelley. "He is willing to attack hitters early and will be a great addition to our program. His work ethic is outstanding, on and off the field. We feel he is one of the top pitchers in Kansas and look for him to step in right away and compete for a key role. He is the kind of player that will help us compete for Region VI Championships. Jake is a good student who demonstrates a lot of character and he really fits the mold of a Cavalier player."
