Alex Lahasky to become a Cavalier

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College head baseball coach Kent Shelley announced Alex Lahasky, a 5-9, 165-pound second baseman has committed to play his college baseball at JCCC. Lahasky attends Blue Valley West High School and is coached by Bill McDonald.

Shelley describes Lahasky is a very fundamental player who plays the game hard at all times, and will fit in with his hard-nosed attitude. He has the ability to play all three infield positions and will give the Cavaliers a lot of versatility. He hits from the left side of the plate which is very rare for a middle infielder and another left handed bat will benefit the team.  As a junior, Lahasky hit .400 and only committed 1 error in the field.

“Alex is a player that takes pride in his defense and knows the importance of getting it done in the classroom," Shelley said. "He will be a great addition to our club next year and he is the type of player that will make us better. Alex posted outstanding numbers last season on the field, and he has proven that he can balance baseball with academics which is a characteristic that is a must if you want to become a Cavalier."
