JCCC baseball program listed among top 50 junior college teams

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College baseball program was recently listed among the top 50 junior college programs in the country by PGCrossChecker.com. The Cavaliers were selected 46th overall and were the only program from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference to appear on this list. The 50 teams consist of NJCAA Division I, NJCAA Division II and California community colleges.

JCCC finished the 2008 season with a 41-18 record and earned a trip to the NJCAA JUCO World Series, the first in the program's history. The Cavaliers return a number of key players from that team, including All-American left-handed pitcher Brandon Droge, and all-conference outfielder John Lenherr. The Cavaliers are coached by Kent Shelley.
