JCCC baseball program among nation's top academic teams

OVERLAND PAR, KS ­ The Johnson County Community College baseball program had an amazing season on the field in 2009, winning 43 games and finishing the year ranked 14th nationally. However, they were just as impressive in the classroom. The team compiled a 3.23 team grade point average in the spring which ranked them eighth in the country on the NJCAA 2008-09 academic teams of the year list. This marked the second consecutive year the Cavaliers have been ranked among the top 20 academic baseball teams in the country.

This year's squad also compiled a 3.25 cumulative team grade point average during the 2008-2009 school year. That was the best team GPA among JCCC¹s athletic teams.
