Lenherr earns Rawlings Big Stick award

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- John Lenherr, a sophomore outfielder for the Johnson County Community College baseball team, was one of 10 players to earn the Rawlings Big Stick Award for the for the 2009 season. Rawlings, in conjunction with the NJCAA, honors annually the top hitter in each Division I District with the highest regular season batting average with the Rawlings Big Stick Award. Lenherr was the Central District recipient.
Lenherr led JCCC with a .439 average, collecting a team high 83 hits, including 18 doubles, four triples and five home runs. He also drove in 45 runs on the season and scored a team high 65 runs.
Lehnerr also left his mark on the all-time performances lists at JCCC. His
83 hits tie his own season mark he set last year. He also is the program's all-time hits leader with 166. His .439 average ties the 11th best season at JCCC, and his 65 runs tie for fourth on the season chart. Lenherr also ranks tied for second in career doubles with 33, second in career runs with 120, tied for fifth in career batting at .432 and tied for eighth in career RBI with 89.
