Docent class

In addition to exhibiting major works of art, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art will offer educational programs and materials. Visitors and students of all ages and backgrounds will enjoy various opportunities to explore contemporary art and develop critical thinking skills and visual literacy.

Interactive art appreciation tours led by volunteer docents are designed to facilitate appreciation and understanding of contemporary art in the exhibitions and in the permanent collection on view throughout the campus.

Regular museum programming will feature visiting artists’ lectures and workshops and an international film series. Engaging studio classes for children will be offered Saturdays and during the summer.

Printed orientation materials, interpretive labels and self-guided tours will enhance museum experiences for casual visitors of all ages.

Through educational programming and materials, the Nerman Museum will present contemporary art for discussion and offer opportunities for creative expression, aesthetic pleasure, intellectual stimulation and social interaction.
