Financial Aid
If you will be seeking federal financial aid, you will need to work very closely with the financial aid offices of both your local college (where you are completing your prerequisite courses) and the JCCC Financial Aid Office (host institution) to ensure that the FAFSA application is considered for all semesters of a respective academic year. Your "home" school for a given semester is where you receive your federal financial aid. If you are applying for the 2010-2011 clinic year: For the Fall 2009 semester, Spring 2010 semester and Summer 2010 semester, you will need to work with your "home" or local college for completion of the 2009-2010 Federal FAFSA (using your 2008 income tax information) and include both the "home" college code and the JCCC (host) college code of 008244. In the spring/summer of 2010, you would then complete a new FAFSA for 2010-2011 (using your 2009 income tax information) to cover Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 (and possibly Summer 2011 if you still have prerequisites to complete) of the clinic year. The FAFSA should be filled out with JCCC's school code of 008244 since it will be the degree-granting institution. JCCC becomes your "home" institution once you begin your CORE (Respiratory Care) classes and on your way to completing your program. FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid |
