iTeach Online-ANGEL

The iTeach Online course will combine all the instructional modules found in the Basic Navigation, Lessons, Discussions, Assessments, Grade Book and Final Touches courses. This is not a self-paced course and is designed for individuals unable to attend the Face-to-Face sections. Faculty who do not teach online are welcome to enroll and learn about the many features available in ANGEL for all modes of delivery. Faculty who enroll in any of the face-to-face iTeach sections will also appear in this course.

iTeach - ANGEL - Navigation

In this first of six courses, participants will review some basic navigation components of the ANGEL learning management system. JCCC Quality Guidelines for online courses will also be reviewed. Some of these guidelines including Student Expectations, Introductions of the Instructor, Communication Guidelines, Response Time-frame, Grade Policy, Netiquette Policy, Copyright Statement, and Required Course Technologies. Participants will learn how to use a Learning Object Repository (LOR), create or upload a course Syllabus, organize welcome materials, preview material from a student perspective and use the course mail tool.

iTeach - ANGEL - Lessons

In this second of six courses, participants will review adding and organizing lessons of the ANGEL learning management system. Specifics including using folders and pages to organize content along with reviewing the use of SoftChalk to import and maintain content. Individuals will learn how to use templates, section dividers, linking external content and lesson settings to release course materials.

iTeach - ANGEL - Discussions

In this third of six courses, participants will review using Discussions, Wikis, Chats, Whiteboard and Blogs in a course. This session will explore various Discussion Board settings including adding the Discussion to the gradebook and grading a Discussion. We will also explore how to use the Live Office Hour feature along with Live Chat and Whiteboard capabilities of ANGEL.

iTeach - ANGEL - Assessments

In this forth of six courses, participants will review adding Assessments and Assignments in a course. This session will explore various tools including the Drop Box, HTML Editor, Question Pools, Question Banks and tying content to the Gradebook.

iTeach - ANGEL - Grade Book

In this fifth of six courses, participants will review using the ANGEL Grade Book and generating Reports. Individuals will learn how to setup a gradebook using the Wizard as well as adding manual and content-based entries into the system. Additional time will be sent on using Macros and editing assignments in the Gradebook.

iTeach - ANGEL - Final Touches

In this sixth and final core course, participants will place the final touches on their course. We will learn how to use the ANGEL Calendar using the Date Manager as well as creating Course Announcments and modifying the Course Home Page and Course Themes. We will review the Learning Object Repository (LOR) and how to Export Content to an Archive (as opposed to using the Backup) feature.

iTeach - ANGEL - Agents-Tokens

(ELECTIVE COURSE)
In this elective course we will demonstrate the use of Agents, Tokens and Teams for your ANGEL course. The use of Agents and Tokens provides the ability to generate and send custom e-mail messages and changing the appearance of a Folder Icon based upon events. We will also review the concept of Teams for Peer Review and how Teams can serve students with Special Circumstances.
