Description:

Fire control through manpower, equipment and extinguishing agents will be explored, including theoretical models and practical applications. 3 hrs./wk. This course is typically taught in the fall semester only.

Course Objectives:

A plan of action is necessary to cope with and solve a problem. The
best plan is one based on sound
principles and experience. This course is designed to supplement
experience and to develop sound
principles and decision making ability. To prepare fire company officers
or potential officers to:

Methods of Evaluation of Competencies:

Evaluation of student mastery of course competencies will be accomplished using the following methods:

COURSE EVALUATION:

The student will be evaluated on the results of scores accumulated on four
(4) tests and eight (6) quizzes.

GRADING SCALE:

The student's grade will be determined according to the following:

Category #1 (Tests - 4) 90%
Tests - 25% ea. (or 22.5% of overall grade)

Category #2 (Quizzes - 6)  10%
Quizzes - 18% ea. (or 1.8% of overall grade)

Total 100%

Grading will be according to the following percent scale:

90 - 100 = A
80 - 89  = B
70 - 79  = C
60 - 69  = D
59 or less = F

Caveats:

  1. This class meets 1 day per week.
