Concealed Carry Handgun - Kansas

This course offers an in depth review of current Beekeeping practices. You will study beekeeping in the classroom and explore a beehive in the field. This course will give students hands on exprience working a beehive.

Fly Tying Basics

Of all the ways to catch a fish, few are more rewarding than catching one on a fly you tied yourself. No previous experience is necessary - learn step-by-step instructions of basic fly tying techniques. All materials are furnished. There is a $20 material fee payable to the instructors at the first class. Note: enrollment limited to 10.

First Steps Shotgun Orientation

This class is geared to the new gun purchasers or those new to shotgun shooting 13 years old and up through introduction to firearm safety, handling and shooting skills and taught by an NRA Certified Instructor. Each participant should use his or her own shotgun- bring it to class, locked and in a case. Bring Owner's Manual - DO NOT BRING AMMUNITION INTO THE BUILDING or with you to the classroom. Students will be transported to the shooting range on June 13th and returned to the college. Equipment needed; Shotgun, Owner's Manual, one box of appropriate shotgun shells -LEAVE IN YOUR CAR/TRUCK - (may be purchased at the range), hearing protection, eye protection, cleaning kit or materials, lockable shotgun case and gun lock. Handouts and range fee is included in the fee and parents are welcome. Class limit 8.

Try Scuba

An orientation to scuba diving that allows non-divers to experience diving in a heated pool and in a safe and controlled environment, under the direct supervision of a dive leader. All equipment is provided. This class is for 10 year olds and up and must be accompanied by at least one parent. There will be a $5.00 material fee for a mouthpiece. These are one session classes either on a Sunday or Thursday. Class limit is 12.

This class is a continuation and expansion of Fencing, Mastering Skills I including skills and techniques in Foil, Saber and/or Epee depending on class interest. Practice exercises, bouting, strategies, tactics and officiating are emphasized.

Kansas Hunter Education

This is the state approved course for the Kansas Hunter Education certificate. You will learn safe firearms and hunting practices, responsible and ethical hunting behavior and basic wildlife conservation principles. You will also discover the vast hunting opportunities available within Kansas. Participants must be 11 years or older to attend this class. You will be able to experience the Laser Shot's Hunting Simulator, students will experience the thrills of sporting firearms while at the same time receive instruction in safety, proper ethics and the responsbilities of gun ownership. You must be able to attend all 3 sessions to qualify for the certificate. Class limit is 30 and no walk-ins will be admitted.

Duplicate bridge does not have to be cutthroat and antisocial! This is a low-key, casual, non- threatening introduction to duplicate bridge. This class is designed for intermediate players whose bidding is pretty good, but whose play of the hand and defense need some improving. Displayed hands will be analyzed, and alternative strategies for their play will be discussed and then demonstrated. Various advanced techniques will be presented to strengthen your game.
