Preferring the term Harvey Girls to waitress, Fred Harvey recruited single
women to work at Harvey Houses along the Santa Fe Railroad line from
Kansas to California. Between the 1880's and the 1950's, more than 100,000
women, many Kansans, proudly wore the black-and-white uniform of the Harvey
Company. Find out more about these adventuresome young women. This is a

See the JCCC Culinary Team at Work
Here's your chance to learn more about the internationally successful JCCC
Culinary Team. We'll begin in room CC 211----- with Dean Lindy Robinson
who will tell us about the Culinary Team, how they prepare for competition
and the criteria for success. Following her presentation, WE WILL WALK the
short distance to OCB to see food that has been prepared for judging for a
regional competition in progress.
