Gifted Students in High School and Middle School Admission Requirements
Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
7th and 8th Grade Gifted Students
7th and 8th grade students are eligible to enroll in credit classes by completing the following requirements:
- Submit an application for admission.
- Submit a copy of a current Individual Educational Plan (IEP) from a public school to the JCCC Admissions Office.
- Submit a High School Authorization form signed by your school principal to the JCCC Admissions Office.
- Provide ACT scores with a 26 or higher in English, Reading and Math or SAT Math score of 590 or higher, or
- Take the JCCC assessment test.
Student and parent must meet with program director of Admissions after above material is submitted.
Student and parent must meet with an academic counselor to select courses. Enrollment is limited to online, self-paced or course by arrangement.
All the above tests must have been taken within two years of enrollment.
Note: If you do not meet the above testing requirements for 7th and 8th grade admittance, you will not be eligible to enroll in credit courses offered at JCCC at this time.
9th Grade Gifted Students
9th grade students are eligible to enroll in credit classes by completing the following requirements:
- Submit an application for admission.
- Submit a copy of a current Individual Educational Plan (IEP) from a public school to the JCCC Admissions Office.
- Submit a High School Authorization form signed by your school principal to the JCCC Admissions office.
- Provide ACT scores with a 19 or higher in English and Reading and a 26 or higher in Math, or SAT Math score of 590 or higher, or
- Take the JCCC assessment test.
Student and parent must meet with program director of Admissions after above material is submitted.
All the above tests must have been taken within two years of enrollment.
Note: Students who test into a developmental math (less than College Algebra) or English (less than Composition I) class will not be eligible to enroll in credit courses offered at JCCC at this time.
