Open Petal Award
Dr. Terry Calaway congratulates Dick Bond, recipient of the 2011 Open Petal Award. Dick Bond was selected in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of Some Enchanted Evening, which he co-founded. This scholarship gala has raised more than $5 million to support student scholarships since its inception.
The logo for Johnson County Community College has an open petal on the upper right corner of the sunflower as a reminder that as long as there are new ideas to present, new challenges to accept, new visions to pursue, this institution will always be open to them.
The award honors those who have made a significant contribution in the area of fundraising for the Foundation.
