Starting a Fire Service Career
To be considered for admission to the Fire Academy course, you must complete the following steps:
- Submit the Fire Academy Admission Application (PDF) by the first Friday in July for fall classes or by the first Friday in December for spring classes to:

- Submit the JCCC Application for Admission for Credit Students.
- Successfully pass the Fire Service Entrance Examination (FSEE) with a 70 percent or better prior to the semester for which you are applying. Visit the Public Safety Training Center for more information about the FSEE.
Applicants who meet all the requirements listed above will be contacted for an interview. The interviews will be conducted after the application deadline has passed. The top 24 applicants will be contacted prior to the beginning of the semester and instructed in enrollment procedures.
